7 Skin Care Tips To Transition Into A Fall Routine

With COVID-19 having kept us all at home for the majority of summer, we have started becoming our own skin care experts. Well, maybe not experts, but chances are you’ve had a chance to invest a little more time and care into your skin care routine with the extra down time. Now it’s time to set aside your summer routine and adjust to a fall routine as the season change is quickly approaching.

Here are 7 skin care tips to transition into a fall routine!

Use a thicker moisturizer: Summer is for lightweight, oil-free moisturizers. During the colder months, it’s time to bring out a thicker, hydrating moisturizer like Red Wine Daily Deep Moisturizer. Apply after cleansing your face, while your skin is still damp.

Add moisture-boosting hyaluronic acid to your routine: Hyaluronic acid holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, and it draws moisture out of the environment and onto the surface of your skin. There truly is not a more effective moisturizing agent. The Essential Serum Booster is packed with hyaluronic acid and also helps activate collagen production for younger, firmer, and brighter skin. Add a drop or two to your current serum for an added boost, or simply apply directly to your skin!

Take a break from exfoliating: Give your skin a break from rough exfoliating. This doesn’t mean you need to cut it out altogether because exfoliating in moderation is necessary for good skin health. Simply scale back to exfoliating once a week or once every other week. Everyone’s skin care needs are unique. Check out some of our favorite exfoliants here!

Load up on body lotion: You might have been able to get away with skipping moisturizing your whole body during the summer months, but now it’s time to lather up everywhere! As summer ends and the humidity starts to decrease, your skin will start to feel dry and itchy. There’s less moisture in the air to hydrate your skin, so make applying body lotion, like our Hand & Body Lotion, a daily part of your fall routine.

Load up on vitamins: While vitamins are important all year long, they are especially important when you’re spending less time in the sun and eating less seasonal fruits and vegetables. It is easier to get Vitamin D and antioxidants in the summer, and these nutrients are vital to healthy skin. Take a multivitamin if you aren’t already, and make sure you’re taking Vitamin D.

Add Magnesium to the mix: Speaking of important vitamins, make sure you’re getting enough magnesium too! While fall may be here, summer really takes a toll on our bodies. Try the Magnesium Plus Soothing Stick to relieve bug bites and heal any scratches or scrapes you acquired from your summer adventures.

Use a humidifier: You can drastically improve your skin by adding some moisture to the dry air in your home. Using a humidifier is a great practice from the start of the fall season and through the end of winter. For best results, turn your humidifier on as soon as you turn the heat on in your house.

With these 7 skin care tips for a fall routine, you’re all set to transition your morning and evening self-care time into fall-friendly practices. We don’t know about you, but we are definitely ready to say goodbye to the harsh summer heat and welcome those pumpkin spice lattes.
